Contacted Lui about doing a boiler service. Replied straight away. Date booked, service done. Wonderful service. Not only did Lui complete the boiler service but he also recommended a unvented cylinder check and explained why it was important to have both serviced/checked. I recently had Lui refurbish my Bathroom and En-suit. Just before he was due to start work, my conventional Heating and hot water system gave up. Although fixed, I requested a quote from British Gas for a combi system.
The Surveyor came part way through the bathroom refurbishment. The suggestion was that the combi boiler should be placed in the same position as the old one. This presented quite a few problems in pipe work and flue.
Lui took the opportunity to provide a quote. He explained the benefits of the sealed system, ie cut cost, due to efficiency and hot water as and when needed. He carried out his survey, checking levels for the gas and water pipe runs, flue and drains. He suggested that as the copper cylinder would be removed, the 1st floor airing cupboard would be the best site. The problem was timing. I accepted the quote, expecting some time before the new installation. Lui had other ideas. He brought his son in to carry on with the En-suit refurbishment, and Lui started to installation, in preparation of the finish of the bathroom. The installation took 2 days. The only inconvenience was no water for the1st working day, no hot water for 2 working days. The whole operation was quickly and efficiently carried out, with all the safety checks done, system flushed and working a treat.
Because of the change from conventional to combi system, Lui changed the shower digital control boxes for ones compatible for the new sealed system and their position. Saving money for the bathroom work.
I am truly delighted with the installation and have benefitted from having an efficient modern system, constant temperature showers, additional space in the utility room and hopefully cheaper energy bills, confirmed by the newly installed smart meters. I will know more when the temperature drops, as with the warm weather my central heating has not come on, set a 20 degrees C.
The advice Lui gave was spot on for myself and the running of the house. Truly recommended for this installation and advice given.

Initially Lui was engaged to revamp my bathroom, He forwarded suggestions for the design of a modern fitment. Work began with the stripping of the room. He kept me informed of the time table for the works to completion. During this period, I expressed that I would like the en-suit to be done in the future. So it was that Lui and his son combined to refit both rooms together.
The works were carried out in a professional and efficient manner. I was informed regularly about the progress and how the work needed to be carried out. The standard of work and finish is very high, with Lui being a perfectionist. Family expressed this on a visit after completion. Lui also advised on changes, such as removal of a 100mm cavity wall to allow the shower tray to be increased in size in the en-suit. He also advised on alternative fitment in order to reduce cost. I appreciated this, but proceeded as agreed. Communication was excellent.
The work proceeded quickly and efficiently with cleaning taking place as and where necessary. Lui on a few occasions had to be left in the house and lock up, as I needed to attend hospital on a daily basis. I had no worries about his care respect for my property.
On completion of the work, Lui demonstrated all the facets of the installations, and ensured that I was satisfied with the 2 rooms.
I am truly delighted with the end results, these far exceeded my expectations. I have a modern fitted bathroom, and en-suit shower room to a very high standard, which far exceeds that which had been replaced. I would have no hesitation to recommend Lui to friends and neighbours who are thinking of having similar work carried out.

Lui us extremely reliable keeping to his word in all aspects. He keeps to his timings and explains each stage of the work as it progresses. He helps to keep in budget and gives help and ideas where needed. As he completes all the jobs required including ordering materials etc, it removes all stresses for the householder.

Last December Lui replaced the kitchen sink/taps and repaired some hidden/unexpected damages (due to years of leaking) in the kitchen cabinet. During that time, I realised he is truly exceptional and very reliable plumber with high standards. Recently, Lui has just completed a total refurbishment of our en-suite bathroom (toilet, shower, sink, tiling and flooring), re-decorated the other bathroom and done some further jobs (electrical) in the house as well – within only 3 weeks.

Since there is no parking/loading space next to the property, it was a real challenge to organise the delivery and loading of the new shower cabinet/tiles/equipment s etc. There seemed to be no obstacles from him! Lui has shown a very positive and professional attitude to his work. He has been extremely organised and kept the house very tidy at all times.

We moved to St Ives last September knowing no-one and needed several trades people to do work for us as the property we had purchases needed some updating. A new bathroom suite was the first thing and found Lui’s website, we like to use local people if possible, and asked him to come and give us a quote. This he did, making several visits. We agreed his quote and he suggested, as he was working near, we should meet him at The Bathstore, Huntington, so we could see for ourselves the suite he was proposing to use. This we did and was much appreciated.

We arranged for the work to be carried out the half term week as our daughter and family were going to be away and we could stay in their house. We came back on the Friday afternoon to find Lui has just finished. All had been cleared up and any rubbish, including some of ours from the garage, had been disposed of which was also much appreciated.

We have found Lui to be reliable and trustworthy, feeling that we could leave him safely in our house without us here.

He responded on a Sunday evening around 20 minutes after I sent my email and this rather set the tone for my future dealings with him.

Throughout the process, Lui has always been at the end of the phone or PC or, more likely, he was willing to call round to discuss plans for my bathroom.

Although, in my case, it is very much a tiny room, Lui was very keen to help me to make the best of the small space. What I thought I wanted was not what I ended up with, but Lui was intent on making sure that I would be pleased with the result and persuaded me against some of my ideas on the basis that there were not good use of my money! He gave me lots of ideas and even met me at Plumbit early one morning to discuss my options with me!

The resulting bathroom is just perfect and has WOW Factor, which I didn’t think could be achieved in the “smallest” room.

Lui and his son worked hard, were entirely reliable, left the house clean and tidy each day and I had to trust them as I work every day. I handed over my keys, but never felt any concern that they would not look after my home.

Although the work took longer than I had expected, this was partly due to unexpected issues, but also their willingness to take on some other remedial work which cropped up as well as Lui’s attention to detail. He was never going to do anything which was less than perfect – and how refreshing that it is in this day and age of cutting corners.

I am delighted with my finished bathroom – it ended up a shower room, at Lui’s suggestion, in fact, but I would not hesitate to recommend Lui the Plumber!

3. I presented Lui with quite a challenge. It was a thirty year old bathroom, maybe even older, in a cramped room with ancient fittings and dodgy walls. Lui recommended about the only solution possible, including the united that would best fit into the limited space available. The result is a marvel: bright, modern and efficient.

4. With Lui you get not only excellent craftsmanship, but the benefit of his long experience. He knows what will work, what will fit and what will look nice.

5. Here is an expert you can trust.

We engaged Lui to strip out our existing bathroom totally, (wall tiles, floor to ceiling, floor tiles, bath, etc) and replace with new throughout, through installing a corner shower as opposed to a bath.

From the outset Lui provided use with advice and options that we have not considered such as installing a thermostatic shower fitting, fed from the mains, as opposed to our original proposal for an electric shower. he also suggested a further tile type for a couple of flat surfaces within the room which contrasted well with the new wall and the floor tiles and added to the overall finish. The former suggestions had the added benefit of allowing us to have removed the water tank in the loft which created more space in that area.

Problems encountered during the job were dealt with quickly and efficiently. For example when the state of the walls were found to be somewhat worse than anticipated when the tiles started coming off, it necessitated complete removal of previous plaster work back to the original brickwork. This called for the room to be re-plastered and this was organised quickly by Lui to avoid undue delay.

We were sufficiently confident with, and trusting of Lui to provide him with a key to the house so that his access was not dependent upon us.

Lui stated the job as scheduled on 6 September and was with us for some 4 weeks – a wee bit longer than anticipated but this was due entirely to the state of the walls and the time required for the plaster to dry. His work was always clean and tidy and all spoil was removed from the house daily. Lui did the job to a very high standard.

I have no reservations in recommending Lui to undertake such work as he did for us.

Lui recently installed a bathroom at our property and we are very pleased with his work. This comprised removal of all old fittings and installation of an new bath, shower, wc, basin unit, heated towel raid and fan as well as tiling throughout.

His approach was always professional and conscientious with good attention to detail. He kept his working area neat and tidy and disruption to our lives was kept to a minimum. For part of the time we were on holiday and were happy to leave Lui with the keys to the property in our absence.

When any issue arose on the job – e.g. the inevitable matter of making compromises necessitated by the constraints of the building etc. He was always attentive to our wished and was able to make creative and useful suggestions in order that we achieved as close as possible desired result.

Overall, the experience was very positive; our new bathroom is terrific and testimony to Lui’s efforts and the personal involvement he brought to the project. We have no hesitation in recommending him to you.

Lui the plumber came highly recommended and we are glad to say he lived up to his reputation. The downstairs cloakroom was going to be a difficult job but his considerable experience he was ale to suggest solutions which have worked out brilliantly. He is a very tidy worker with minimum disruption and clearing up at the end of each day made his visit very pleasant indeed. We had been planning our new bathroom since early 2010. We had already purchased our bathroom suite and picked and ordered tiles to do the job. Over the course of the following year we have been using separate electricians, plumbers, tilers, and carpenters to get the project completed. Work was exceedingly slow due to the need to get different people in at different times and taking to one another. By early 2011 we had still only got some of the plumbing done in a bare plastered room. We were recommended Lui “the plumber” and we gave him a call.

Lui called round very promptly to take a look at the project. Originally we had planned to get him to quote for the tiling part of the work, but once he had seen the job he had identified key issues with our proposed design which would prove to be very costly. Lui quoted to complete the entire job including checking and making good the current work, completing the plumbing, tiling and carpentry. The quotation came in at more than out budget, but Lui had been highly recommended and the prospect of getting the job complete was very agreeable and we commissioned him to complete the work.

Lui started working on our project a few weeks after we accepted the quotation and worked hard and reliably over the duration. We entrusted Lui with a house key so he could work whether we were at home or not. Lui kept the house clean and tidy at all times and kept us informed of all the work he was doing on a daily basis and ensured we were kept up to date with any problems and extra costs that were incurred.

Lui helped us to keep some of the cots down by negotiating on our behalf with tile and bathroom companies to get certain items returned/replaced and this saved us a few hundred pounds by the end of the project for which we were very grateful.

Since work was completed we have had no problems with the bathroom and are very happy not only has the work been concluded, but that it has been done so with the utmost care and attention to detail.

We would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Lui to anyone else.

I asked Lui to redo my bathroom. Install new bathroom suite and make all walls good as he had to remove all the old tiles and replace some of the plasterboard for re-tiling all the walls and flooring.

Lui has recently remodelled our en-suite bathroom and we are thrilled with the results!

It was a major piece of work, as it involved knocking down a wall and completely stripping back to the bare plaster and floorboards. As this was a significant undertaking on our part, we were nervous about making sure that we made the right decisions. Lui was brilliant at guiding me through the various possibilities and I valued his expert advice; he was also very patient as I took my time to make decisions about the tiles and the bathroom furniture. I valued his guidance and his ability to know if something would work well or not – he gave me straight taking, sound advice which I found very helpful.

In terms of the work, I was very impressed by the manner in which Lui and Adam conducted themselves – they were efficient, very reliable and I was always pleased when I came home to see that things were tidy and clean. Lui was very professional, reliable and trustworthy at all times and I was so very pleased that we had chosen him to undertake this work for us.
